Join the world of Melanina Sicilian Experience and discover one of Sicily’s most authentic symbols with this creative experience dedicated to the Sicilian coffa, the iconic hand-woven bag made from dwarf palm. From an ancient peasant tool, over time coffa evolved into a stylish accessory appreciated worldwide.

In our showroom, a space designed to celebrate Sicilian handicraft and culture, you’ll enjoy an authentic experience that combines stories, creativity, and craftsmanship. We will take you on a journey to discover the history of the coffa, from its origins in the island’s countryside to its rebirth in the world of fashion and design, where it keeps embodying timeless elegance and the identity of Sicily.

After learning about its history, it’s time to unleash your creativity. You can choose the size you prefer from those available, and guided by an expert craftsman you can personalize it with a rich selection of trimmings, fabrics, tassels, feathers, bells, and decorations inspired by the vibrant colors and most iconic symbols of our land. Each creation will be unique, reflecting your style, your imagination, and the memory of this special experience.

This workshop does not require any previous experience: it is designed for everyone, from curious travelers to craft enthusiasts, from couples to families and small groups.

Each coffa is entirely woven by hand, and its slight imperfections are not defects, but precious testimonies to its uniqueness and artisanal value.

At the end of the workshop, you’ll take home much more than just a bag: an original creation, made with your own hands, a souvenir from an authentic experience and a small piece of Sicily to treasure forever, which every time you look at or wear will bring back to you the memory of the emotions you experienced in your journey.

• Mini coffa (24-26x14cm ca.) is included in the price. If you choose a medium coffa (30-32x16cm ca.), there is an additional cost of 30€, large coffa (36-38x20cm), additional cost of 70€.
• Trimmings, fabrics, tassels, feathers, bells, and various decorations.
• Water, soft drinks, and a tasting of sweet creams.
• Showroom with sales area and guided visit
